Decorating with Dim Lights

Light, properly used, can enhance the beauty of your surroundings. By varying the intensity of the light, the color tones and textures in fabrics of draperies, furniture or carpets are accentuated or subdued, resulting in the altering of the character and spirit of your home’s surroundings. It is possible to vary the intensity of the light in any room by using a light dimmer.

A light dimmer works by turning the light on and off at a blazing speed of 120 times per secod. The mentioned speed is way too fast for a human eye to notice, no matter how hard you squint your eye. This new type of switching is more efficient than old dimmers using a type of potentiometer or controller called a triac. Buzzing problems caused by using a dim switch is typically solved by changing your light bulbs and lowering its wattage. Dimmers can be used in any room of the house and is particulary effective in rooms such as your entertainment room, bedroom, or family room.
