Now this is a structure that you don’t see everyday! The design of Rolf Disch is a mix of sustainable and modern design, a proof that designing for the environment should not be seen as a constraint but a chance to let loose creative thinking.

The structure revolves around a central axis to follow the sun’s path and at the same time provide different views for each room. The solar panel at the top also tracks the sun to provide all day solar energy.

The structure is said to be sustainable by itself - it collects solar power and provides energy, collects rainwater, treats sewage and wastes without any smell. Because of its active ecodesign implementation I can only guess this would cost millions of pesos. However, here’s hoping that this design will inspire Philippine architects to create more green buildings in the future!
